ABOUT SMILEY :

Smiley is a Win95/98/NT screensaver. To use it, copy SMILEY.SCR and SMILEY.BMP to your windows directory, then from desktop settings, select "Smiley" as your screensaver.Or, alternatively, you can right-click on Smiley.scr and click on "Install".

TECHY STUFF :

Smiley runs only in high-color or true-color video modes, it does NOT work properly in a 256-color mode.
Smiley uses a 256-color BMP file to lighten or darken your screen. At run time, this BMP file is "moved" randomly across your screen. For every pixel in the BMP file, if the average of its RGB values (as indicated by the palette) are lower than medium gray (128), then the screen pixel beneath it will be darkened; if it's greater than medium gray then the screen pixel beneath it will be lightened. At medium gray the screen pixel remains unchanged. The amount of lightening or darkening depends on the average of BMP pixel's RGB values, ranging from total blackness (0) to total whiteness (255).
The name of the BMP file is SMILEY.BMP, and it must be in the same directory as SMILEY.SCR (preferably either windows directory or windows system directory). You can edit the BMP file to get different patterns, but just remember:
1. The file name must be SMILEY.BMP.
2. It must be a 256-color BMP.
3. Its width must be a multiple of 4.
4. Its minimum size is 64x64.
Smiley is freely distributable, but should only be bundled with this "Don't Readme.htm" file,OK?

IMPORTANT NOTE :

Although care has been taken to remove all possible bugs from Smiley, please note the following :

1] The author does not accept responsibilty for any damages, incidental and/or consequential arising out of the use of this screensaver or it's related parts.*

2] It is especially important that you know that Smiley DOES NOT SUPPORT PASSWORDS like normal screensavers. If you want a screensaver with a password, use one of Windows' built-in savers.

3] The author is not responsible for any security issues that come about because Smiley does not support passwords.
